More Carb Nite and Carb Back-Loading Tips Part 5

Posted on December 8, 2014February 18, 2015 by BJJ Caveman

More Carb Night and Carb Backloading Tips Part 5a In an effort to stay up to date with all of Kiefer’s prolific work, here is the next series of notes I’ve taken. This is the fourth edition of my Kiefer notes.  Again some of these are from his own site, Body.io and some from when he appears as a guest on other podcasts. For those that don’t know, Kiefer is the author of both The Carb Nite Solution and Carb Back-Loading, both ways of eating that I’ve been playing around with recently.  Here is the official link to all of his guest appearances.

Carb Nite Redux Week 1

Carb Night Redux Week 1

Introduction

Exactly 1 year ago I had just come across Kiefer’s Carb Nite and was so inspired that I designed an n=1 experiment and followed it for 10 weeks.  When I began the experiment I weighed 185.6 lbs and my abdominal circumference measured 35.5 inches.  At the end of the 10 weeks I weighed 184 lbs and my abdominal circumference was 33.75 inches.

A few months later I devoured Kiefer’s Carb Back-Loading 1.0 and again was so inspired that I adopted it for 14 weeks. … Read More

Carb Nite Redux – Preface: Too much good food while traveling!!

Carb Nite Redux Preface

Following my embarrassing and poorly executed Carb Nite / Carb Back-Loading experiment this June and July where I actually ended up fatter at the conclusion of the experiment than when I started, the BJJ Cavewife and I did a little bit of traveling to Germany and Croatia (I’ve been sneaking travel pictures into my Random Reading Posts).

While travel is a great opportunity to see the world, experience different cultures, and broaden horizons… it’s frankly terrible for weight loss.  Of course I ended up putting on a few extra pounds at the end of this trip.… Read More

Carb Shock Ingredients

Carb Shock BJJ Caveman

I’ve been wondering about the ingredient list in Carb Shock lately and since it’s sold out and I don’t have any, I don’t have the back of the container to refer to.

I checked over Kiefer’s Supplement Blackbook again and while he does go into what the separate components are in this supplement, he doesn’t talk about the amount per serving… until I came across Page 27 where he actually has a picture of the back of the container.

But as you can see… it’s almost too small to read!! … Read More

How Not To Run A Self Experiment with Carb Nite and Carb Back-Loading

Posted on October 27, 2014May 9, 2017 by BJJ Caveman

CBL and CNSIntroduction

I’ve pretty much been too embarrassed to share this until now because of how poorly run this 8 week self-experiment was.  Now that it’s been a few months and I’ve had some distance, I feel a little more ok with this, and I only share this so that maybe one of you will be able to take something away from this so that you don’t make the same mistakes I did.

I’m just throwing all the raw data that I collected in a table below, so it may be a little difficult to read through. … Read More

Carb Shock BJJ Caveman

A few days after the successful launch of Kiefer’s Carb Shock supplement, he held a live, online webinar on insulin timing tricks followed by a Q&A session.  In the webinar he discusses the optimal ways to use Carb Shock with either Carb Nite AND Carb Back-Loading, and provides a lot of clues as to what the upcoming Carb Back-Loading 2.0 will contain.

Here are the notes from the secret Q&A Body IO Podcast he released prior to the launch of Carb Shock and the notes from Parts 1 and 2 of this series:
