Day 56 – Nutritional Ketosis

Posted on February 5, 2013October 10, 2014 by BJJ Caveman

Day 56aWeight: 177.2
AM Ketones: 0.6
AM Blood Glucose: 87
Hours of Sleep: 6:13
Energy Level: Good
Physical Activity: IFAST
Nutritional Ketosis Streak: 2

Another new low for weight.  Though with the drop in ketones, I don’t think I can even hazard a guess.  It might have to do with the fact that I had less sleep than usual -> cortisol -> insulin -> lowered ketones.  At least I’m keeping my streak alive, day 2!

Hopefully tomorrow will bring new lows in weight.

Day 56b
Calories are much lower than normal

Macros were good today, and the overall calorie intake was pretty low.  1500 calories is a lot lower than I’m accustomed to… but I just wasn’t hungry.  I’d eat a few bites and then I’d be set for the next couple hours.  Then I’d eat another bite of something… and then go longer without eating.  I wonder if I’m getting closer to that point where I can ‘accidentally fast’ …

Since I got lucky with my IFAST low intensity workout AND my carbs were so low today, I’ll predict that my ketones will be back above 1.0 mmol again tomorrow.
