Day 37 – Nutritional Ketosis

Posted on January 18, 2013October 10, 2014 by BJJ Caveman

Day 37 aWeight: 180.6
AM Ketones: 0.9
AM Blood Glucose: 88
Hours of Sleep: 8:11
Energy Level: Excellent
Physical Activity: BJJ

Looks like another spot on ketone prediction from last night.  The fact that I can get pretty close to predicting my ketone measurements actually tells me that I have a reasonable understanding of how the things I do affect it.  My rough measurement includes how well I ate in terms of my macro breakdown and whether or not I had an intense exercise session.

Since I had a pretty intense BJJ session tonight and I ate close to ideally, I’ll predict tomorrow’s measurement to be around 1.5 mmol.

Day 37b
Pretty good…

An interesting observation today was that i wasn’t hungry at all this morning.  I grabbed a bit to eat before heading out the door because I knew I wouldn’t have the chance later on, but I truly wasn’t hungry.  This feeling kind of lasted throughout the entire day, even AFTER my BJJ workout.

Taking a look at my overall caloric intake of 1371, I ran a significant caloric deficit.  I wonder if the high fat pork bellies I ate last night had a carry-over effect onto my satiety today.  This is my second day in a row of feeling extremely satiated.  Since this was my 11th day of being in nutritional ketosis, I wonder if I’ve crossed some kind of threshold and have adapted to a point where my appetite is more suppressed… If this is truly the case then I expect to see more drastic losses in weight.  I guess we’ll see in the coming days.
