Looks like my guestimate was off. My ketone levels didn’t change much despite my swimming and running around with toddlers yesterday. Looking back, I think the problem arose when I was waylaid by some prime rib that I couldn’t refuse. My macronutrient ratios were looking pretty good up until that point and the large influx of protein from the prime rib probably elicited some form of gluconeogenesis or something that caused my ketones stay low and my glucose to go higher than 90. In the past 42 days, my fasting AM glucose has only gone higher than 90 twice (including today).
More evidence that I need to watch my overall protein intake.
Still, 15 straight days of nutritional ketosis is something I can be happy with. My macros today were as perfect as I could ask for.
Since my macros were ideal and I had an intense BJJ session along with snorkeling and swimming earlier in the day, I’ll be more generous with my ketone guestimate for tomorrow and say 2.0 mmol!
