Rhonda Patrick Talks Broccoli Sprouts with Dr. Fahey from Johns Hopkins University

As a nice companion to Rhonda Patrick’s first video on broccoli sprouts and sulforaphane she interviews Jed W. Fahey who is the Director of the Cullman Chemoprotection Center at Johns Hopkins Medical School, where he’s actively involved in ongoing research on broccoli sprouts, sulforaphane, and other plant based chemicals.

You can tell by the way he talks that he has a deep understanding of everything broccoli sprout related, especially since he was literally involved in much of the research.  A quick search on PubMed shows that he has 79 publications with the earliest paper from 1980 to the most recent one published this past June 2017.… Read More

Boost Your Testosterone With This Grocery List

[Alex at AnabolicHealth.com put together this easy to follow infographic describing foods to eat to maximize the body’s natural production of testosterone.  This is actually a great complement to the Low Testosterone Infographic that I posted in May.  I have to admit that I was surprised to see ‘mint’  in the “Forget It” category.  I guess that means no more mojitos for me!]

Anabolic Health – The Manly Grocery List

Men are defined by their testosterone levels. While you may think being young equates to having good levels, you would be dead wrong.… Read More

How I Got Burned By Crowdfunding… TWICE!

I remember when the idea of crowdfunding first became popular.  I’d browse the pages of Kickstarter and Indiegogo and marvel at the amazing products people were developing, but was always hesitant about taking the plunge because I was never sure any of the products would actually make it into existence… until these two times.

Cautionary Tale #1 – AVAcore RTX Glove

I first heard of this technology in 2012 when I read this article on Gizmodo.  I knew that athletes used ice and ice baths and cryotherapy to aid in recovery, so the idea that similar results could be achieved in something as portable as a glove was mind blowing.… Read More

This Infographic Breaks Down Low Testosterone

[Philip, The BJJ Caveman here, this is a guest post from Mo Saleem, founder of TripleYourT.com, a site dedicated to natural ways of improving low testosterone.  He created a wonderful infographic on low testosterone and  asked if I would be willing to share it here.  I took a look at it and thought he did a fantastic job so I said of course.

Since testosterone is something I’ve been interested in myself and have tinkered with in the past I know that having some thing like this around would’ve been helpful at the time.Read More

The Whole 30 Days 16-30

The second half of the Whole 30 challenge proved to be much easier than the first half.  The BJJ Cavewife and I had gotten used to all of the different rules and were no longer craving all the foods we couldn’t eat as much.

I was getting used to drinking only black coffee with cinnamon and didn’t miss my usual added heavy cream anymore.

The BJJ Cavewife and I continued to observe that eating this way made us full really quickly and it was hard on some days to get enough calories!… Read More

Ushering in 2017

The New Year is right around the corner, and what better way to usher it in than with Jocko Willink’s take on New Years resolution:

Don’t make a New Years resolution to be a better person next year… Make a resolution to be a better person NOW…

That resolution of DISCIPLINE to work and follow through and maintain your will, that’ll result in the freedom that you’re looking for…

DISCIPLINE EQUALS FREEDOM.

I’m currently spending the last few weeks of 2016 on the East Coast with the BJJ Cave-Inlaws and getting in a lot of great brazilian jiu-jitsu training in at the gym I used to train at here, Fifty/50 BJJ.… Read More
