The BJJ Cavewife received a call on her day off to see if she could go into work to cover her colleague who called in sick. Since she is a wonderful and thoughtful and considerate person she dropped all of her plans and went into work.

Thyroid Update September 2016

Since I haven’t checked my thyroid levels in over a year, I decided to add a thyroid panel onto my September 2016 blood test.  I can’t report any symptoms of either hyper or hypothyroidism so there really isn’t any real reason for me to check this except out of sheer curiosity… which is pretty much the entire purpose of this site.  I thought it’d be fun to see what changes, if any, the Whole 30 would have on these numbers.

Vitamin D Update September 2016

In my recent blood test from September I also checked my Vitamin D level.  Because my job involves working indoors, at a desk, in front of a computer for 10 hours a day, it’s rare for me to get much sun exposure.  Sometimes I’ll sneak out for a coffee run or something, but even then only my face and hands will be exposed since I typically wear a dress shirt, and the walk to the coffee shop only takes 5-10 minutes.  We’re talking minimal exposure at most.… Read More

Testosterone Update September 2016

Along with testing my cholesterol and HbA1c after 15 days of the Whole 30, I also checked my testosterone levels.  It’s something I’ve checked in the past maybe once a year just to get a sense as to where I stood.
